About FINOMAD

FINOMAD exists to make mobility something that belongs to everyone. We believe that the freedom to move — to reach work, care, family, education and community — is fundamental to a fair and connected society. Our mission is to build the open networks, standards and partnerships that turn that belief into everyday reality for all groups in society, including young people, elderly persons and those entitled to social transport under frameworks such as the Dutch Social Support Act (Wet Maatschappelijke Ondersteuning, WMO) and comparable arrangements elsewhere.

We pursue accessible, inclusive and sustainable mobility by supporting and developing innovative transport concepts — ride-hailing, integration with public transport, bicycle and car sharing, ride sharing and parking solutions — and weaving them into coherent, seamless journeys. Through integrated services such as Public Mobility and Mobility as a Service (MaaS), we combine different modes into efficient solutions that place the traveller, and not any single operator, at the centre.

Open infrastructure sits at the heart of our work. FINOMAD develops digital infrastructure that enables communities, authorities, institutions and organisations to take part in shared mobility ecosystems. We advocate for open-source software, open standards and open networks so that these ecosystems remain transparent, interoperable and widely accessible — never locked behind proprietary walls. In particular, we promote the application, use, training and further development of the Beckn protocol for mobility in the broadest sense, as a foundation for decentralised and interoperable mobility networks.

Mobility thrives on cooperation. We bring together public authorities, private parties and civil-society organisations to create an open, reliable and user-friendly mobility ecosystem in which each contributes its strengths and shares in the result. To support sound decisions, we enable authorities, institutions and large communities to access and analyse mobility-related data and statistics — always in accordance with applicable laws and regulations — so that strategy, policy and day-to-day management rest on facts rather than assumptions.

To advance these aims, FINOMAD carries out research, pilot projects, public engagement, knowledge sharing and education, and secures and manages the funds, grants and partnerships that sustain this work. We see ourselves as a connector and an enabler: linking people to places, organisations to one another, and ideas to implementation, across borders and sectors.
